Today I have to go to a friend's house.
'Have to'.
Going to see friends is becoming a chore.
It's too much work to think of the elaborate plans, to think of what to say to your parents about that you're eating to eat over there, to think of what to say to your friends about that you already ate at home.
There's holes and contradictions all over the place when I hold out my patchwork, but it's enough for now.
Last time I went to her house, she ordered pizza for us.
The time before, she made waffles in the morning. It took me hours to eat them, filling each other hole with a dot of syrup.
I don't understand why so much of people's time revolves around eating.
Going out to dinner with your family, grabbing a snack before leaving, making peanut butter and jelly sandwich as a kid with your mom, cereal in the morning...
Social events revolve around it too.
