Recovery Food Rules
- Two cups of fluid at every meal.Water or soymilk or juice.
- Breakfast must consist of one group carbohydrates [oatmeal, waffles, toast, ect] and preferably one group fruit.
- Lunch must consist of one group carbs and one fat [cheese sandwich, cheese pizza, pasta w/ cream based sauce, ect], preferably with one or more servings of vegetables/fruit
- Dinner must consist of one group carbs, one fat, and one protein [tofu/cheese sandwich, meat substitute with hamburger bun and cheese, pasta w/ small serving nuts, ect], preferably with one or more servings of fruit/vegetables
- If a meal is skipped, substitute with the appropriate amount of Ensure
- Calories do not matter, eat when you're hungry and stop when satisfied to the point of comfortable fullness. If amount being eaten comes to a concern, check the calorie totals for the day but don't do this often.
- No 'binge' foods, aka foods with an excess of fat, sugar, or have a particular memory assigned to them [like poptarts were my first binge].
- No using emotions as an excuse to eat less or more, take signals from stomach rather than the mind for when it is appropriate to eat/not eat.
- If my stomach is already upset, drink an Ensure instead of a meal rather than forcing food that's going to make me more nauseous and provide an excuse to purge.
- Be more honest about food and what amounts they're eaten in with people in everyday life, no lying about having eaten when I haven't and no lying about how much food I ate if I've binged/purged.
