The world came crashing down, all around me, in shatters and tatters.
Drop it, a silver glint falling to the floor. The sluggish drip of blood down my shoulder, black in the low light.
'When did I get like this?' <---- that was my first thought.
It was like I just woke up.
It was three am and no amount of band-aids on over my shoulders and thighs would ever make me better. No butterfly stitches, no tightly wound rolls of gauze and tape.
For a time in my life that will be healed someday, it hurts a lot.
"Okay, why aren't you eating this time? We're not playing this eating game tonight. You barely touched your food last night. You love spaghetti, so eat."
